ZoneView Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026

ZoneView is a heart-rate-zone workout tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch, developed by Dan Lempa. This policy describes what data ZoneView uses and — more importantly — what it doesn’t do with it.

The short version

All of your data stays on your devices. ZoneView has no user accounts, no ads, no analytics, no third-party services, and makes no network connections of any kind. Nothing you do in ZoneView is ever transmitted to the developer or anyone else.

Health data

• ZoneView reads heart-rate and workout data from Apple Health to show your live heart-rate zone during workouts and to build your workout history, trends, streaks, and personal records.
• The Apple Watch app saves your completed workouts (including heart-rate samples and, for outdoor workouts, your route) to Apple Health. The iPhone app is read-only; it never writes to Health.
• Health data is stored where Apple puts it — in Apple Health on your devices — plus a local workout history database inside the app on your iPhone. It is never uploaded anywhere.

Location data

• If you start an outdoor workout, the Apple Watch app uses your precise location to record your route so you can see a zone-colored map of it afterward.
• Location is used only during outdoor workouts you start, is stored as part of the workout in Apple Health, and never leaves your devices.
• You can decline location access; outdoor workouts then record heart rate without a route.

Widgets and Live Activities

ZoneView’s widgets and Lock Screen Live Activity read a small summary (current zone, heart rate, weekly progress) from a private container shared between the app and its widgets on your iPhone. This data stays on the device.

Sharing and export

If you choose to export your history as a CSV file or share a workout summary card, ZoneView hands that file to the iOS share sheet and you decide where it goes. Nothing is shared unless you explicitly do so.

Deleting your data

• Delete individual workouts in the Apple Health app — ZoneView removes its matching records automatically.
• Deleting the ZoneView app removes its local database and settings. Your workouts remain in Apple Health, under your control.

Data collection summary

ZoneView collects no data: no identifiers, no usage data, no diagnostics, no tracking. There is nothing to sell, share, or breach — the developer never has access to your data in the first place.

Children

ZoneView does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If ZoneView’s data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
